Explanation

The tractability factor f characterizes the ability of the projectile's longitudinal axis to follow the bending trajectory (see figure Go to figure). The quantity f can simply be defined as the inverse of the yaw of repose. It can be shown that the tractability factor f is proportional to the inverse of the gyroscopic stability factor.
